it's not that he's all that bad, its just that he's not very good and he was headlining mma events. That makes the sport look bad considering we've only started hitting mainstream recently. Fans don't want people to see MMA for something that looks amateur, so everyone tried to make it a point to completely trash kimbo so that he wouldn't have any credibility and thus could be separated from the rest of the sport.
If he was just some guy fighting on the undercard of a low budget show, no1 would criticize him.
