is kimbo really that bad

i know..i know another kimbo thread

people say he hasn't fought ANYONE; but real talk, how many guys BEFORE they get on tuf fight top notch or 2nd tier guys on the way up; hardly anyone, so why do people give him so much flack.

i know he got alot of money; but who the hell wouldn't take the cash and make the most of it, none of us would and none of these fighters who whine/complain about the payscales/etc would do it either.

Kimbo fought some pretty decent guys, at least comparable to the type of guys the majority of young heavies fight coming up; faded or not doesn't matter the fact is he beat these guys.

i mean people say he beat mercer so what, mercer koed sylvia; an dont complain about the gameplan and tell me sylvia sucks. The facts are the facts a two time hw champ and mma vet couldn't fight smart and beat a boxer; but an ex streetfighter w/no b/g in mma could.

tank abbot might have been faded, but he still iced cabbage and he can still punch; kimbo didn't sub him or control him on the ground he traded w/him and stopped him, if nothing else tank can strike. Kimo didnt want to strike w/him, even frank mir didn't trade w/him; even when tank was old they still didn't want it w/him on the feet.

bo cantrell might have taken a dive; but that was him folding under the pressure, not kimbos fault an mma rookie handled the pressure better than an mma vet.

thompson, though a bit of a gift, kimbo looked good in his 3rd fight against a guy who has fought frye yoshida aleks e. rodgers etc; not to mention having ten times as many fights as kimbo. Kimbo worked him standing, def takedowns well; got back to his feet on numerous occassions and though he was controlled wasn't finished, nor did he tap out from strikes.

the only fight he looked bad in was against seth; an that was after him losing his original opp and having to fight a new guy w/a couple'a hours notice. I mean most mma guys wouldn't have done well against petruzelli, esp a guy w/3 freaking fights who hadn't fought even a top 20/25 guy. I bet if 90% of the guys in the house would have gotten stopped by seth under the same circumstances; i can guarantee it, maybe roy nelson wouldn't.

i watched his fights, he honestly didn't look that bad in any of them, seriously; he didn't look out of place or outclassed. He looked like a new mma guy who is dev his skills and comfort in mma; but never did he look like a guy (who when matched w/ guys of comparable exp/ability) will get tooled.

im willing to bet his opp have better win loss records than the majority of the guys the other hw have faced w/a few exceptions here and there; i expect him to do well and at LEAST win one fight, unless its against nelson.

But i don't look to see him get dominated or run over; an honestly if he doesn't get knocked out he will get his props, submission loss won't do anything to him or his rep as people know he has no real b/g in that.
