ive had my dad hang from it, he weighs about 260, no problem. (i've been using em nearly every day since november, i weigh 167 atm). The nylon rope and the eyelit screws both have extremely high test weights (I don't have them off hand, i can check).

the pvc piping isn't uncomfortable, if anything the width is a bit big, but you can always get a smaller gauge. i haven't had any trouble with slipping though, which was my first concern. If there was, I'd just wrap em with cloth medical tape and call it a day.

as for a heavy bag, i wish i took pictures from my old house. depending on the setup of the crossbeams, you can do a few things. easiest would be to have longer chains and to just throw them over the cross beam with a scrap piece of carpeting underneath to protect the wood. depending on the age of the wood, you can also simply put an eyelit screw directly into the bottom of the wood and hang the bag that way. (i believe the screws have a testweight of 1k lbs).

if you do go with a setup similar to mine for anything, just remember to make sure the wood is entirely flush with the rounded part of the screw.
