Martial Arts Workouts
Hey,
I'll be going to University this year and I want to stay in shape and maybe compete in some grappling comps. I'll be taking Judo (already have some wrestling and Shotokan experiance) 2 or 3 times a week as well as a "Muay Thai Conditioning" Class my university offers once a week. The class involves warm-up, stretching, cardio conditioning including push-ups, squats, etc., core workout (crunches, planks) and Muay Thai techniques (punching, elbowing, kneeing & kicking). I was wondering what other training I should do? I was thinking something along the lines of this 2 times a week:
5 min treadmill warm-up
Side Crunch (5 reps/side)
Side to Side (5 reps/side)
Roller (10 reps)
Treadmill (3 min. with gradual increase of speed and incline)
Pull-Ups (10 Reps)
Medicine Ball Squats (10 reps)
Decline Push-Ups (10 reps)
Stationary Bike (3 min. in 30 sec. sprint and 30 sec. decreased intensity intervals)
Medicine Ball Push-Ups (5 reps/side)
Is this fine or should I do some weight lifting as well?
