but it seems like my cardio is suffering. i can run as fast as before, but now i can feel it takes more effort. i am more out of breath than before near the end of my runs.

what gives? does weight lifting decrease your cardio because your muscles need more blood?

any advice appreciated
If you are working different muscles 4-5 times a week I'm guessing you are doing a bodybuilding-style body-part split that is putting a lot of stress on your body and affecting your recovery. Also, I'm guessing that because you are lifting 4-5 days a week you aren't doing as much cardio. The two of those combined are probably why you feel like you gas faster.
