Dana says that fighters in the UFC benefit from the UFC brand and massive exposure. And there fighters in the UFC can make more money with sponsors than their actual pay. Juggo said in a thread that Al Turk would get 20k or more from sponsorship (and 7k to fight).
Add the official Fight of the night, Ko of the night, Submission of the night, and all the undisclosed money that can be given to a fighter in the lockerroom after the fight, and you understand that fighter's pay in the UFC is 1) more than what the athletic commission publish and 2) not very clear.
