ill answer your question. Its kinda like a chess system, two players play, lets say one rated 50 points higher than the other, if its a draw the higher rated player will lose maybe a few points (under 10) , the lower rated player will gain a few points (maybe 3pts). Sure its not MMA but they use an actual formula/calculation to determine the +/-.

In MMA everyone has an opinion, and most of the time its a retarded one.
