All three said fighters are good in the clinch, Sambo which has a lot of judo in it is clinch fighting. BJJ which starts on the feet and uses the clinch for a lot of throws to gain superior position, and muay thai has an emphasis on clinch fighting.
You clinch those dudes 9 time out of 10 they'll get out of it because they are better at the clinch.

They may be good in the clinch but they have certainly been out-clinched and still won comfortably. Take Fedor for example. The Emperor himself. His last bunch of fights from fightfinder of which ill list the ones I've seen:
vs Sylvia: didn't need to clinch, destroyed Sylvia standing and then took his back.
vs HMC: actually HMC who is a freakshow basically used his size to win the clinch get top position twice but basically got taken to grappling school after that and armbarred.
vs Lindland: Lindland had the superior GR clinch and Fedor had to hold the rope...was never going to affect the end result though once Fedor got it to the ground.
vs Hunt: Fedor actually won the 1st clinch and got Hunt on his back but Hunt amazingly reversed on the ground and got side control. Later on Hunt won the clinch battle and took Fedor down and came close to subbing him twice despite being a JJ novice. Fedor kept trying for Sambo takedowns unsuccessfully but eventually won got a clinch and was able to take Hunt down and get his arm. The clinch battle was basically even up until the end it was Fedor's cardio, intangibles and grappling skills that put him over Hunt in the end.
vs Coleman 2: like Lindland Fedor held the ropes a bit and like the 1st Fedor - Coleman fight Coleman looks like his GR clinch is stronger than Fedor's sambo but it really didn't matter in the 1st fight and never mattered in this one either as Fedor had his striking and grappling to fall back on.
vs Zulu: clinch not needed
vs Mirko: this fight was basically won by Fedor in the standup although CC had his moments in this classic battle and some clinch work was done to help. The first time you could say the clinch was a factor in the fights ive listed.
vs Noguiera: Fedor won the clinch on this one. Can't argue that but even Bob Sapp got Nog down. Getting Nog on his back was never the key back in the day. Controlling his guard and delivering GnP was and thats what got Fedor the win.
vs Randleman: Fedor was slammed and the superplexed but got the kimura 30 seconds later. Got totally owned in the wrestling but the superior grappling came through.
vs Coleman 1: Coleman owned Fedor in the GC clinch but still got destroyed.
So of these 10 fights Fedor lost the clinch battle decisively 5 times, was a push or was not needed 3 times and helped him somewhat 2 times although it was not the decisive factor. It just shows how little Fedor needs to be winning the clinch to win mma fights.
You check out BJ's or Anderson's victories you'll also see the clinch being 'a factor' in some fights but hardly the decisive factor in most fights.
