I don't want to turn this into a war room thread but the benefits of being a 51st state far outweigh the drawbacks. And that's a weird statement in 2008 given that the USA is going through it's toughest times in our lifetime (or maybe ever) and Canada is leading the G8 in growth.
It's economically better for everyone. We all depend on cross border trade. The border just makes that trade more expensive. Also, freedom of movement across all of North America would be beneficial to all. The list goes on and on.
Politically they're not so different either.....they have 50% blue state/red state. If Canada joined "blue" states would be the majority.
