Thanks! Sounds like you're not one of those fly by night operations that you find all the time online.

It's funny - when I was in school, we had a "national mouthguard association" president here in Canada that didn't have a friggin' clue about fabricating a double end mouthguard, nor could he direct me to someone who could. Just one of those guys out there that wants to head up an association to build credit to his name.

I live in a very hockey dominated town - where the upper custom mouthguards do just fine for impact. I've seen a few designs for patients with braces (the problem being that the teeth shift - so you get changes in fit - plus accuracy of the impression with the brackets on as well as fit). Haven't seen any that I'm too fond of in that respect. Any suggestions?

And you're right - the difficulty in attaining a proper bite plane ( as well as cost) will prevent most people from getting one.
