Good post. I think round by round scoring is still sorta broke. If you have a few rounds where no one does anything, and you give a slight edge to the same guy, then the other fighter dominates the rest of the last round, it sucks you can't award a win to the fighter who was more dominate for the majority of the fight.

That's why they need to do more 10-8 and even 10-7 rounds.
If it was easier to get a 10-8 round, you wouldn't be as screwed if you lost a close round like the one you are describing.
