Imagine if the talent, under a banner of their own, recognized an official rankings committee, to rank fighters.
Since the rankings are recognized and legitimized by the talent and the instructors directly, the media would quickly be forced to recognize these rankings, and many would embrace such a move enthusiastically.
As this ranking became known, and the fighter's brand grew, the promotional "brand" would be of far less importance. When CBS or HDNet want to hype a main event, they can use the identities of the fighters directly, and the official rankings recognized by the talent directly.
This very simple action would increase your marketability across all promotions, and create a more level playing field amongst the promotions that have been to date dominated by "brand".
Fighters adopt a brand of their own, and companies would line up to become an official sponsor.
