BTW, Tim Russert Wake Today

I have to applaud both the liberal and conservative media this last weekend.

There were no agendas, both conservative (Fox), and the two major liberal outlets (MSNBC and CNN), and others ont he radio/satellite/etc.... both did a great job this weekend on tribute shows to Tim Russert. Nobody said "HE WAS A LIBERAL", or "HE WAS A CONSERVATIVE", or "HE WAS TOUGH", just the fact

EVERYBODY LIKED/LOVED HIM.

Even his opponents.

Today Tim had his wake in likewise fashion, in full respect of his in your face political moderatorship.

He was tough and asked tough questions. didnt matter if you were a democrat, republican, independent, crazy or sane.

Tim asked the tough questions.

I find it very refreshing (esp in an election year), that at least for a few days, the Media put its political differences aside to give tribute to a truly great political mind and newsperson.

RIP Tim, i think you'd be proud of what your life represented, and moreover, how every major outlet of media, both Liberal and Conservative, GOT ALONG in honoring your life and your death.

Of most noteworthy?

Obama and McCain not only attending the wake? But they sat together and both visibly and genuinely caught on camera as being truly distressed as if losing a friend that obviously Tim was to both Candidates.

As one broadcaster put it?

You can't fake what we saw with Obama and McCain today at Russerts wake.

I hope this sense of civility, or not even civility, just basic RESPECT, can hold, even in a minute sense, through the General Election.
