I feel he is the most diverse actor that can take on and excel in any role regardless. he can play the straight character excellently, the biopic character great and the oddball weird guy.

when u watch him, its hard to believe, almost impossible to see that Donnie Brasco is jack sparrow, tom Hanson is Sweeney Todd, his character in Gilbert Grape is Willy Wonka. the dude from Nick of Time is Edward Scissorhands.

he never plays the same guy twice and that is very very very rare.
I'll be the first to say that just because I consider myself a serious movie fan that doesn't mean I discount anything that comes out of Hollywood. Depp is a fine actor. I think he was great in the POTC trilogy. I personally favor him in Sweeny Todd above all. He's got it all. I can't say that he's my favorite. He hasn't produced many movies I didn't like. The only Depp movie that I can think of that I didn't like was Secret Window(3/10).

I think that's all he came to say.
