terrrrrrrrible stop. absolutely abysimal. he wasn't dazed, he hadn't given up... and he was CLEARLY defending himself. this is like the ref deciding that a submission, in this case a sub by strikes, is locked in while the fighter is still fighting it off.
i'm not saying that vera was in a good spot, or winning, but he was CLEARLY defending himself. All refs need to stop reading between lines in the rules. defending is defending. knocked out is knocked out, not dizzy. Submitted is submitted, not 'in trouble'.

I disagree with you... He wasn't going to roll Werdum off. He had that mount deep. He wasn't trying to sweep, and also made no indication that he was after the fight. He just said "let me take that ass whipping and go to the 2nd"... Well, if Dan had let him continue to take that ass whipping and he ended up coming out with a broken orbital bone and a broken nose.. and couldn't continue with round two, you lame fucks would be bashing on the ref anyway for letting it go too long.
The fact of the matter is, Dan Lameliotta fucked up at EliteXC but after watching all the fights he reffed again last night, I think he did a good job overall.
Stop sucking Vera's cock dude, seriously. He was getting tooled that entire round, aside from dazing Werdum once. Werdum's striking is a lot better, and those looked like some powerful shots on the ground. Good call, bad whining.
