exactly why he was so succesful his transitions, setups, progressions and follow throughs were very left field of what everyone else was trying to do, which was bjj; its hard to defend or counter when u have no real idea what someone is doing, going for and it's harder to attack when u don't recognize the counter or def being used.
in doing what u feel is right u could very well be walking urself into a submission or letting them out of one; sak had the addv that he had faced mediocre avg and very good bjj guys, he knew their game approach and theories/applications in and out. The same could not be same for his opp...
