Yeah, don't do coke - It's for assholes and dildos (because they go so well together). Your friend is a liar because shrooms can really mess with one's head. Many people like to be out in nature when doing shrooms, but the wilderness is a different situation. In my experience, wilderness + hard drugs = potential disaster.
My advice is to never touch coke, and if you need to experience shrooms, make sure you are in a safe environment with people you know and trust (thats not saying that your experience won't get really hairy), and for god's sake, stay away from a cliff, rushing water, poison ivy, or any den/lair, etc.
