My point exactly. What the fuck has Pat Shultz done? Nothing. Rampage can trash talk because he has earned that right.

fights should be scored like they are in Japan, not scored by rounds but by the whole fight as a whole.
Pride is dead, deal with it. Round by round scoring is fine. If you score the fight as a whole you could tend to weight the a dominant beginning more then the rest of the fight or conversely give to much importance to a guy who finishes strong even if he has been losing the entire fight.

The biggest problem with the judging in MMA is there is no clear cut way to decide what a 10-8 round is. In boxing, a knock down equals automatic 10-8 round, each knockdown lowers the score 1 point unles the other fighter counters with a knockdown of their own. In MMA a knockdown isn't that important because in some fights, it merely puts the guy right where he wants them. For example, if a given fighter was fighting Shinya Aoki and knocked him down early merely to follow into his guard could you really give that round to the other guy? 95 percent of fighters would spend the rest of the round getting owned.

The only way to accurately judge a 10-8 round is by sheer domination. I think the 1st round of forrest-tito should have been a 10-8 round but it was only scored a 10-9 by all the judges IIRC. There is no way shultz's performance was even close to tito's. Complete ownage coupled with effective damage equal 10-8 IMO.
