Can someone explain Affliction's business plan here?
I'm confused about Affliction. Is it basically a fighters' agent company? Do they just hire fighters and then get a cut of the pay when they fight somewhere? Are they a promotor or company that puts on events with their own fighters like the UFC?
With that Arlovski article, it says he could fight his 3 fights wherever he sees fit. How does this help Affliction if he doesn't fight on an Affliction card? It seems like a stupid business deal to me. I really hope UFC pays the man his money, but I'm confused about Afflictions business model here.
I also don't blame UFC for non-exclusives either. You think the Patriots want Brady to go play Canadian football and get hurt?
