If I analyse why I instinctively think it's a fake I have to put it down to:
The convenient shadow, which he amazingly never leaves.
The scripted sound of the dialogue (and the situation).
The changes in the cadence of the guys voice indicate that he is acting drunk.
There could be more.
It screams fake to me though... and you know I'm not a fan of the war.
