Mamet is a hardline pro-Israel conservative (he's jewish). Just watch his interviews on CharlieRose.com. So his comments on NPR=National Palestinian Radio is no suprise.

That said, Glengarry Glen Ross is one of my favorite movies and I really enjoyed the movie Spartan. I'll be watching Redbelt soon only because of Mamet
