What a bunch of hub-bub bullshit. So let me get this straight, the U.K. has ceded sovereignty to the United States because it has adopted the Tomahawk cruise missile and Trident SLBM systems, both of which require support from the U.S. manufactureres who created them? That's the argument? Oh, I can't forget to include that the GPS system the Tomahawks rely on is American. Is that it? Did I cover it all? Geez, give me a break. Britain has adopted these system of its own free will. Do you know why? It's because the U.S. still makes the best weapons system on Earth. If you don't like it, lobby your government to buy French military hardware.

.
This crap is just as ridiculous as the idiots in Washington, D.C. who are running around trying to scare the shit out of people over the Air Force's new contract for tankers based on the Airbus airframe. "What happens if the Europeans won't give us spare parts because they don't agree with us politically?" C'mon.
Is there an argument to be made that Britain's foreign and domestic policies are controlled by Washington, D.C.? I don't think so. Sure, the British supported Operation Iraqi Freedom, but look at the Falklands. If anything, the U.S. walked a tight line to support both its interests, and those of the British. We even acted as a mediator in the conflict, but were unsuccessful because British interests (sovereign control of the Falklands) weren't conducive to the mediation process. The British went on their own way and pursued their own policy. The U.S. didn't control British foreign policy, that's for sure.
