The superior man strives for excellence in all his actions. Part of excellence is integrity, responsibility, respect, and loyalty, especially to someone who you are now going to have a child with.
If you want to live up to what you ought to be, you need to do the right thing, not the easy thing. Marrying this woman now while you have the time is a big statement on who you are deep down. Do you want to be known as a guy who doesn't even respect his child enough to say "this is my child, this is my woman, they are mine, and this is the bond I make before my family, friends, and society itself to affirm this"?
