From my experience, the word "propaganda" has been synonymous with "intentional lies" for awhile. However, there can be such a thing as "good, truthful propaganda."
Basically, propaganda is just the deliberate spread of information or ideas for a cause. Obviously, this applies to war rumors, church teachings and hate speech/rumors. But, a group of math teachers going town to town, telling people the importance of math for future careers, are also "spreading propaganda."
Lableling something a politician or pundit says as "propaganda" is very redundant. It's similar to saying, "that's just their opinion." Obviously......
Most of the time, people on here don't actually like to get down to the nitty-gritty and actually argue with the ideas, thoughts, and facts that others are trying to propagate. Instead, they label it with an ambiguous and redundant term in an attempt to sound intelligent, but without being held to any definite point.
As for myself, I'll continue to spread free-market, libertarian propaganda.
