Meh I see your point. I still think he's a great director though. You've got to look at what he had to work w/ before. When you're trying to make it you take what you can get. He did a great job w/ what he was working w/ in his previous movies. Granted Mimic wasn't a great movie, but as a director you work w/ what you've got. If you look at the directing flair it was very good. His touch is in his visual style. As a director he can only do so much w/ the acting, story elements, and other things. When it comes to what he's done visually it's a different story. He championed in Pan's Labyrinth because he had a great cast, ******, and crew to work w/. Given all that GTD was able to use his visual style to create a masterpiece surrounded by a great group of talent backing him. That's where his greatness as a director was truly able to be seen. In Blade II he wasn't exactly backed up by the greatest talent, or team in the world, but he did what he could, and the directing elements were top notch.
