Some feel that the current status of Veterans is fine others think otherwise. To some like Polynikes, Veterans have more than enough support. To me, I don't know what adequate support is but the disproportunate percentage of Veterans who are living on or below the poverty line is a red flag - to me.
The difficulty is that we can't really argue what are the best measures, correct decisions - what we do know is the end result is not working. It sit well with me knowing Veterans make up 11% of the population but make up 25% of the homeless. Even given personal issues, or those who "want to be homeless" it should be closer to proportional to the population not a 'higher' rate. The research basically alludes that if you served in the military you have a higher probabilty of ending up homeless.
I don't understand how some can accept this regardless of party lines, political motivations - I think more has to be done by some those in power because whatever is being done appears not to be working.
