For me, the appeal of Randy Couture was coming out of retirement at his age and winning against the odds.
I never thought he was the "best", but he had a certain momentum that I found inspiring.
However, after his fallout with the UFC and the subsequent soap opera that ensued, the momentum is substantially gone. Moreover, the soap opera, with all it's bickering by both the parties involved and the fans, has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I really don't give a shit about this fight anymore.
If it had happened soon after the Gonzaga fight, it would have meant something to me, but now I just don't care.
