All I see in McCain's post are failed attempts at trying to impove such status - I personally think its sad. What should be done is a serious look at McCain's character, how does a person who walks around boasting their Veteran status have nothing to show for giving back to Veterans.

Now, I have already explained to you the situation with my friend who is on permanent disability. He gets Sergeant's pay for the rest of his life, the VA got him a job, put him through EMT school for free, gives him free medication, free psychiatry sessions, rehabilitation is free, on base privileges are granted so his groceries are cheap, and so on and so forth. So, your second and third "answer" to the problem are more than covered. And yeah, there are civilian transitional classes offered out the ass before you get out, and if you missed them then, you can retake them.

As to your comment about mortgages, I posted this:

And then you posted this, which is a definite "link/fact ignore" post that is typical around here:

Guess what you aren't. So please Stop talking like you are in some kind of position of authority, this is a discussion not your opprotunity to start name calling like a little school girl.

The point of the thread is that John McCain's assistance to Verterans is non-existant it is sad that he has nothing to show for any support given to veterans other than bs politics and words.

Please stay on topic, John McCain's efforts for Veterans? I mean **** he wanted to stay in Vietnam, what a brilliant guy.

What else do we need to discuss?

What about the opportunity to make and save money in the military?

I'll go ahead and do that now before you ask for it:

2008 Military Pay Chart

If you have no rent, no grocery bills, no medical / dental bills, this is a lot of money. And for the record, these are basic pays, and do not include any bonus pays or combat pay or sea pay or anything other than basic pay. AGAIN, THIS IS JUST BASIC PAY.

Thrift Savings Plan

You can check out the Thrift Savings Plan too. It's basically a 401k that you are offeredthrough the military, and its something everyone is told about time and time again.

TreasuryDirect

If long term retirement isn't your thing, you can ignore the TSP and go with short term savings bonds. There's the link for them. And don't even try to say that people don't know about this stuff because you're offered these the very first day you get to boot camp.

At any point during this conversation, you can begin to respond to any of this with facts if you've like.
