Why not tap into the oil we discovered in some of the Northern states last month? Or convert coal to synthetic oil from Montana? The coal alone would last us for 200 years. The governor stated on GLenn Beck that the reason we aren't doing this is because the government has not specified what types of fees would have to be paid.
