The problem is not just because of drugs or PTSD. All of the information that I am giving you comes from the VA, (veteran affairs) - so dont' fucking bullshit me about this stuff, its coming from people older and more battle tested then yourself.
Why is McCain to blame? I'm not blaming him, I'm just sad he hasn't done more - in the past years the story is still the same - vets are 1/4 of the homeless population - McCain being a fellow veteran has nothing to show for this. If I were in a position like his it would be my #1 priority. A man of his age, his level of influence - its just sad. Its slated a good chuck of veterans returning from Iraq are soon to be homeless, maybe not in the first year but eventually. To me that is a sad statistic.
When you guys say these instances are self inflicted, 75% of the military are well educated people (above average) the numbers are just sad, the way we treat those people who are "protecting our freedom"
