don't read into this statement at all and don't get offended: new orleans should not be rebuilt. at least not WHERE it was before. take this as a cue from nature and the french (they said it was a bad idea to put a city there in the 1700-1800's). don't rebuild the levies (again not in the exact same place). let the wetlands that used to shelter the city, or at least absorb some of the overflow, refill and start the city over form that point. you can not predict nature. another category 5 or 6 (no such thing as a six, just using that as a euphemism) storm would produce the same results if it were big enough. rebuild the city, just do it a few miles inland. meanwhile, i will continue to send items to new orleans. but if somehow a senator or whatever happens to read this, don't use my tax dollars to allow another future disaster like this one. you can use them to build these people newer and better homes (and pursue the insurance companies who owe these people their money) just do it in a better spot.
