Good representation to keep the Promoters in-check is what's missing, the way the NFL, NBA, and MLB law-dogs do their thing. What's failing the fight-game right now is the Athletes, not the Promoters. Like in Boxing how the WBC tried to skip Vitali Klitschko straight to a Title Shot upon his coming out of retirement over "mandatory" #1 Contender Samuel Peter who had to fight the same guy twice to get the #1 Contender status. Sam sued and hard-checked the ever-corrupt WBC. He won. More Fighters could follow that example because without Fighters to extort, Sanctioning bodies and Promotional Companies go out of business eventually.

man, trust me, I've been following the MMA scene for a long ass time, ever since I was a kid training kickboxing and caught the UFC by fluke on ppv with my father. I love this sport more than anything, and if I can do my part to help I will for sure.
I've practically given up on becoming a fighter myself, because I simply don't have the time to train. However, if I can work on representing fighters it will be just as sweet for me, and I'd be giving back in my own way. Unfortunately there are many years of hard work ahead before I can put this plan into fruition.
Ah well, if it's meant to be, it will happen.
edit: also, it would be my dream to live and work in Las Vegas or California hehehe
I was in LA and San Fran a couple of months ago, it's a whole different world out there compared to here in Montreal.
