These are some that I can offer;

A lot of nightclubs hire bouncers with absolutely no training or experience (a lot of them are actually friends of other bouncers), and pay cash under the table, so that they don't have to deal with insurance, tax or benefits (or even liability for that matter).

Most companies that train security/hire out Security Guards, Bouncers, Ticket Inspectors, etc. encourage their people to overstep their legal boundaries (which is often no more than that of a regular citizen) because the law will always favour their version of events, which can actually lead to legal consequences for you (eg: they will beat you up for doing whatever, then say that you tried to assault them - so they were defending themselves - then the police bring assault charges against you).

Although I will say that bouncers will often line you up for 'special treatment' if you cause trouble or are arrogant towards their authority (so be nice). Also, many bouncers are also offered free drinks while on the job - great mix eh?

Most people who work at stores like Dick Smith, JB Hifi, Apple Shop, most shoe shops, sporting goods stores, etc., know almost nothing about what they are selling and will often try to bullshit you into getting the item (so do your own research and don't listen to anything they say because they will say pretty much anything to make a sale), particularly with electronics when they are trying to sell them to people who don't really have much on idea about them (which is easy because the first thing that most people say is "I don't know anything about this...").

Also check around and compare prices from a lot of stores and ask them to beat the prices, which they often do (or offer something free), and don't be afraid to walk away (often they make a last ditch offer before you try to leave), and then just come back in an hour (I got $48 off a camera that was originally ~$300).
