I don't know if this is actually confirmed or something but I hate the idea. The title being put on hold and putting Nog on hold is bad enough. The worst part though is Frank has not done anything to deserve a title shot. Since the accident he's lost by TKO to Pe De Pano, he looked terrible. After watching Pe De Pano's debut it was easy to see Marcio had no striking ability. Frank gassed horribly and didn't look good the whole fight. His next fight he edged out an extremely close decision to Dan Christison, that was basically a gift. He barely did anything after the first 3 minutes and he was very lucky Dan gassed worse than him by the end. That fight was less than two years ago and he's now a contender? Against Brandon Vera he did absolutely nothing.
Then we get to the so called "old Frank" that we've seen against Brock and Antoni. First both fights combined total less than 3 minutes. Just because Frank appears better it does not prove he is actually in shape and wouldn't gas like his previous fights. Antoni was custom made for him to beat. Hardonk has the worst take down D in the UFC (far worse than Kongo) and to make it worse he has zero ground game (unlike Kongo). Against a guy that wants to strike Antoni is very dangerous, but Mir does not fall in that category. Frank beating Brock was also very unimpressive. Brock really showed he was too raw and considering he has no UFC experience the win means nothing. To put it in perspective how impressive would've it been if Frank beat a debuting wrestler like Cain Velasquez? Cain has more MMA experience, is younger, and looks overall more talented. Everyone would have wrote off the win though (Cain does have a bright future) and said it meant nothing. Are the fans really going to accept the Lesnar fight as a legit win because he was in the WWF?
Frank does have a lot of skill, but it takes more than possessing skill (especially in one area) to demonstrate one is ready for a title shot. In the octagon Frank has proved nothing over the last four years. He could still be that good but he hasn't even proven he can last awhile with a borderline top 10 UFC HW like Eddie Sanchez. Giving Frank a title shot would be far worse than Lutter or Serra, two guys from TUF 4 people always complain about getting shots. Atleast they beat decent UFC fighters like Cote (very misleading 0-4) and Lytle.
