I think Muay Thai and Kyokushin have alot more similarities than differences. Lets not forget that Mas Oyama was at some point influenced by thai fighters in the development of his art.

The power roundhouses are very similar to thai, they still use the quicker Karate roundhouse, but they use shin kicks also. The knees were slightly modified from muay thai to suit his needs.

They both have a high emphasis on bad-ass-ness, so i don't know what the fuck we are arguing about here.........

They are both strong arts, almost the same thing, just in different rulesets.

For those who train, the Punches in muay thai & kyokushin are more similar to eachother than Muay thai and boxing. The people that have actually trained in both arts will know what i mean.
