First off, that fight was terrible. It really wasn't as bad as people made it out to be though. Yeah, you should have thrown in the towel, that's right, but I understand that without that broken rib incident I bet you would have. That's what you get from idiots for trying to learn from mistakes. They would have ripped you the same way on here had you thrown in the towel I am 100% sure.

Kalib, the truth of the matter is that you're just being hated for being intelligent and self aware. People just hate real men basically.

The more you are gonna talk about this the more ammo they get. The other fighter dude in here was right. Move on, get some wins and the UFC don't want you? Well work your way up to the major league one more time and fight for HD-Net then.

And Nate Quarry is super undervalued on here. The guy is one of the rare guys that have strength, power and coordination as well as technique. He'll pose problems to anybody that's not an elite striker with a power, speed and accuracy advantage.

This sport is no longer about being a skilled fighter. It's about being the best athlete in your weightclass while being as skilled as possible. Had you had 3 times the pop on your jab, then Quarry wouldn't have kept coming in disrespecting your striking like that. If you had more power, you'd move around faster which would mean, faster retreat, plant your feet and bang Quarry up coming in much like Rich Franklin did. I know you got the timing. unfortunately, your 80% power shots don't stop a guy like Quarry and staying in the pocket left you wiith a huge disadvantage in terms of power in strikes and also Quarry had the body to take your best shots and you couldn't take his. I can see you got technical boxing skills. These guys on here can't take that shit away from you.

You said it best yourself when you said Quarry seemed to be much stronger than you. Well that was the main difference here. You got away against Leben, which by the way is a great win for anybody, because you had the reach advantage and you were quicker. You managed to move back and out of the way, plant your feet and hit him hard and stay elusive like that. Quarry took that away when he wasn't only stronger, but also had a much better power to weight ratio enabling him to move just as fast as you did. His strikes hurt with those 80% shots you can get off while moving around. Seemingly yours don't hurt a high level athlete that is willing to trade shots. There was no getting away and planting your feet in that fight. Quarry kept the pressure on you, like Hendo, Randy, Lindland,....Quest guys...do to their opponents. This game plan is tailor made for beating technical guys that are outgunned in terms of stength and conditioning. I don't know if you can move down a weightclass or what, but you are outmatched in the S&C department, not in the skill department.

I would love for you to find a knowledgeable powerlifter (not the guy with the drugs that knows what's best [those are good for technique and balancing training], because he has done it, the book nerd type [the ones that really really study up on performance] that is hell of strong for his weight) or even better a high level weightlifting coach with booksmarts.

You need someone that takes your strength game to another level and starts developing you as an athlete for real. Get to it now and in a year you'll already have gained like 50% strength. In the beginning it will slow you down a little bit, but keep stretching and stuff and it'll all turn around soon enough. Weight training does not make you slow. Lifting slow makes you slow. To get strength levels up you need to lift slow at first. That's where the misconception comes from. Once your maximum strength levels start going up which happens quite fast really (much faster then picking up good boxing habits for example), you'll need to swithc to power training like weightlifting and plyometrics. I can bet you 100 bucks that depth jumps and stuff never really worked that well for you? Am I right? You need to get a ground stock first like maximum strength levels up, then you follow through with power training and lastly the closer the fight gets the more you'll have to get away from weights. That's when the new found power will translate to more speed throughout all movements. For better whole body coordination you'll need whole body lifts at high intensity meaning with high pwoer output. This is why I say to get with a weightlifting coach, they understand how to structure training in phases to make you better. If you want an analogy, you wouldn't start a kid boxing out with combinations off of body shots while circling away or something a Roy Jones can get away with. You teach them how to get a fast and stiff jab, how to turn the wrists. You teach them basic foot movement, etc. It's the same with strength traing. Too many people emulate high level athletes doing endless depth jumps and medicine ball throws. This only works for genetically gifted guys, the others will have to progress from strength through power to speed. Working explosive speed will do nothing without the strength base. It'll only get you injured.

On a side note, I still like you. You got balls. You're a smart dude. You got technique. You didn't do the wrong thing in this fight. Ain't nothing you could have done. You shouldn't have taken that fight. You aren't there yet, which is tough to realize considering you got such great technical skills. they make up for a lot, but Quarry is headed up to contender rankings soon enough and needs to just fix hiss defense and he'll be at the top of the heap. He is very underrated since losing to Franklin. For the next time you fight at that level, you'll just need to get your strength up (Athleticism is largely based on this. This is absolutely true), then look at the amazing progress in power and speed and let that give you the heart you need to shut off that brain at times and go through the motions with trust in yourself. It ain't the heart you are lacking.

Big props for coming on here again.
