I understand you didn't want to sustain any injuries as a result of a KO, that's fine. But if your foot was indeed broken and you knew your gameplan was lost, especially given the broken foot, then the right thing to do would've been to throw in the towel there. The fans, as disappointed as they might be not being able to see the full fight, would rather see you bow out due to injury then continue in the manner you did. They would've held much more respect for you since there is no shame in acknowledging defeat as a result of a serious injury.

It also becomes hard for fans to understand because so many other fighters fight with broken hands, noses, ribs, etc and put the KO on the line. Therefore, when they saw you running and not engaging to put that on the line, it made a lot of fans angry. Not saying your health shouldn't be your primary concern, but just trying to relate how the fans probably interpret some of those things.
