I have to do the opposite sometimes. If a guy comes into me store and it becomes apparent he just wants to pontificate about tech, i just play real dumb and act like i haven't a fucking clue what they're talking about. Besides, they just come to brag about how much they know. It's really annoying.
On the other hand, I'll overuse jargon quite a bit in sales to overwhelm customers. It makes them think you know what's best, so they'll listen to anything you say.
