I'm not sure there is an "ideal" amount. There are tons of variables in there. It's been awhile since I looked at leucine specific studies and sometimes they can be a good gage for dosing. Anywhere from 5-20grams is probably beneficial... in certain circumstances. Check out the Berardi article that Mike posted. It has some fairly current information in there and I believe suggested dosing may be included. I might dig up some leucine studies if I have time... that's a big "might" though
