I would suggest you get on ebay and try and find a deal on asics.

I got some used runners with spikes for including P&P £13. They've done less then 1 mile (sprinter) and they're in good shape. Will come in handy for when its muddy and I want to get some hill runs in around local manor garden estates.

I remember seeing some going for £35 minus P&P but they were from new.
My current asics have lasted me quite well, probably 500 ish miles in the last 9 months
