But yeah, in Gene Lebell's book he says that Bruce knew the value of grappling, but knew that the audience wanted to see some standing chop-socky.
Also, a lot of the bullshit is spread by his fanboys rather than the man himself. There's an interview where someone asks him if he could take Ali, and he says (paraphrasing) "look at this fist - this is a tiny chinaman's fist" and then points out that the sheer size and atheletisism for Ali would be too much to handle, let alone his boxing skill on top of it
I'm tryign to find it, but I keep getting the usual bullshit about Bruce being able to kill a man with his pinky and one inch punch a man to the moon!
