Thats why its so incredible when we see guys like Leben pull out a bomb when hes gassed.

Gomi/Diaz is the first fight that comes to mind - Gomi is just physically dead, his arms wont respond to his will. You can look in his eyes and see the frustration and fear. No cardio makes you a sitting duck, you are unable to put your body to use, and thats a terrifying feeling for anyone in the ring.
I agree 100% I only recently started training jujitsu and over the last 3 weeks have improved a bit and the major thing I notice is this. I get submitted when im tired. My guard gets passed when im tired. Not to say im that great when I have steam but the minute you gas out thats when you fall apart. On another note I got my snotbox busted up and it wouldnt stop bleeding on one side so I plugged it up, that lack of air through the nose left me so tired that I couldnt lift my arms up or pull guard. Breathing and cardio are too important. If you have some medical condition and you cant get better and you want to fight thats your choice but I would think you would want to fight to win.
