Seeing the anti-cops thread recently, I thought this: All the cops in America, and heck, the military police too, should just quit tomorrow. Highways would become Deathways as drivers would often go 120mph or more, especially the reckless bad apples. Fatal accidents would go up 500% or more. No road would have speed limits. And if you hit someone b/c you are speeding and they die.....hey, relax, no consequences!
Rape would go through the roof. All the beautiful women in America would become prey to the perverts and those who just don't care anymore. A thug or redneck would see a hot woman and know the only thing between him and her is her. No consequence, just a good ole rape session.
Murder may go up a lot, and maybe not. Since gun laws would no longer exist, everyone would have a gun, everywhere. So, who knows. The only thing we know is there would be no consequence. BUT, since there would be no cops, some murders wouldn't happen because a witness would no longer be valuable, thus no need to kill a witness!! But, anger killings would skyrocket.
Hospitals would be flooded with those suffering from drug related conditions, since the use of crack, cocaine, heroine, meth, etc, would be "legal" since no one enforces the laws against it. You would see guys cracked out and guys high on meth just walking around the shopping mall doing whatever they want- since NO crime would have a consequence.
Theft and burglary would be rampant. Guys would just walk into stores and steal at will. They would likely travel in groups so no individual store employee could physically stop the theft. And without cops, there would be no consequence. So, groups of 10 or more would roam around just stealing whatever they wanted. Burglary? Oh yeah. When you aren't home, just expect someone to go into your house. Why not? There won't be a consequence.
Vandalism would become "art". Teenage kids would smash stuff, egg stuff, paintball stuff- all at will, for fun, without consequence.
No one would pay taxes, because the feds wouldn't be able to have their cops enforce it. Roads would crumble, fire depts would lose funds eventually, military would lose funding.
Most stores would close up due to rampant crime. Corporations would eventually relocate all stores to other countries. Banking would change completely, as robbing a bank would now have no consequences. Indecent exposure would become all too common. Clothing would now be optional, dirty old men would sit at Starbucks and whank away at every young girl around. Your barking dog would be shot.
Victims of crime would have to take justice into their own hands. But even when they found the people who harmed them, they'd probably just be shot by the same people. Nothing would happen, since no cops would be there to investigate. Arson would be like the new fireworks! Shooting ranges would be wherever gun fans felt like shooting. Everyone would drive the car they want because they could steal it as soon as they saw the car they wanted!!!
Yes, a country without cops. Sounds like a wonderful place.
