That run speed isn't that impressive. I'm shocked that someone started a thread based on a 5 1/2 minute per mile run speed (and claims to be a runner).

When I was in the military, I could run a mile at around the same speed as Bas. My grandson, who's in the U.S. Marine Corps. can also run a mile in under 6 minutes with absolute ease. In fact, for the 3 mile run portion of the physical fitness test, the best score you can get is with a 6 minute per mile run (this is a nice standard for non-pro runners, but far from unachievable).

I don't doubt Bas on this one, one bit.
