Judging by both the somewhat negative and somewhat positive reviews, it just sounds like this could be a good video if they had a director worth their salt. If the guy and his story are interesting enough, then the content probably isn't the issue. As someone who took a few TV and Film related classes in college, I can tell you that a decent director can make all the difference, up to and including giving the story some resolution. Having a story with no resolution or an ambigious one can make the viewer feel cheated.
