dont think Slamm changed the catchweight, more that he was misinformed on the weight by someone originally.
As for Thai's and cutting weight, they all cut large amounts and from a young age, he would definately be used to it, most fighters will cut about 6 or 7 kilos in the 3 days just before the fight. The weigh in at 6 in the morning for a fight in the stadiums and for 3 days before twice a day and often on the morning of the fight they will jog with a full sweatsuit on and cut out fluids. It is also common for clinics near to the stadiums to have a few boxers in straight after the weigh ins where they will have glucose/rehydration fluids put back in through a drip.
