That's one reason... another reason could be to maintain integrity in the placebo group. Something abnormal like tingling would probably be a giveaway that you're not in the placebo group.

I don't know how long carnosine levels stay elevated after consumption but it looks like saturation levels start to peak at around 28 days with ~6g a day. So, levels obviously stay elevated for more than 1 day otherwise I don't see how saturation levels would increase over time. After doing some more research today (actually, re-reading stuff I forgot about) it seems that dosing once a day has been proven successful. I retract my number 2 from above and state that multiple dosing is most likely only for avoiding paresthesia.
