Marking university papers:
You can have brilliant ideas but if your grammar and sentence structure (and general writing style) is shit, then your mark is going to suffer. I don't have the time or energy to decipher your garbled english to give you the credit that your brilliant ideas deserve. This may not be a big surprise, but it's especially important for those classes where the prof says "I don't dock many marks for spelling and grammar--I'm more interested in your argument and ideas" type of bullshit.
