Pretty good on the feet if a little on the reckless side. Not too bad on the ground either. He's really young yet so all I can comment is potential here. He'll probably break the top 10 at some point in his career, beyond that who knows. The reason his popularity has spiked around here is the Houston Alexander win. A lot of the newer fans who are relatively unseasoned in regards to combat sports naively considered Alexander nearly indestructable, totally overlooking the massive holes in his game. By beating Alexander, Thiago picked up some of that naive adoration.
As it stands, I believe he's headed for a loss against Rashad Evans. Should he defeat Rashad I will be very impressed.
