Icon4 ****Big Tim vs. Nog may change MMA as we know it****

Well now that I got your attention, allow me to explain myself. For years now Fedor Emelianenko has been ranked #1. For years there has been no doubt that he was head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. His destruction of Big Nog left people wondering if there would ever be a human being who could stop this Russian machine. Well, lately it seems as if people are questioning Fedor's rank as the #1 heavyweight. I believe Fedor is the best fighter to ever compete, but I do see how many would want to remove him as the CURRENT #1. This is where Nog vs. Tim plays a role in this.

After reading that last sentence, some might be wondering how the hell does Fedor lose his top spot if he's not even a part of this fight. You know what, I'll tell you! For years Fedor's biggest wins have been Nog and CroCop. CroCop has not looked too stellar recently, so in the eyes of many, Nog is really the only guy keeping Fedor's credibility as the CURRENT heavyweight king. If Tim Sylvia is able to finish Nog, we may see Fedor lose his #1 rank. The man who was considered to be the second coming may be knocked off his throne (no I'm not talking about a toilet).

If Big Tim finishes Nog, I would see the heavyweight rankings like this: 1. Couture 2. Sylvia 3. Fedor 4. Nog 5-10 who cares. Some may find this controversial, but I feel that is the only way that the rankings would seem fair. I'm a huge Fedor fan, and I feel he is the best fighter of all time, but you can't stay on top forever [especially when you haven't fought a top 10 opponent since 2006 (Hunt)].

So fellow Sherdoggers, this is why I feel this fight is bigger than just two former champs fighting. It will be the fight that decides if there will be a new name next to #1 or not.

Discuss/flame/agree/watch my new hl vid titled "knockout"/discuss/the female in my av is Adriana Lima since I get a few pms a day of people asking/etc./

*edit* To clarify to the knuckle-heads who seem to be confused:

1. I am in no way shape or form a Fedor basher. I'm just looking at this from an unbiased point of view.

2. I do believe Fedor's skills are the best in the game, but I also believe Randleman is one of the most talented guys, and he is not #1 due to not winning against top competition. Fedor isn't losing to top competition, but he sure has hell isn't beating any lately.

3. By rankings I mean CURRENT rankings. Notice the emphasis on CURRENT! Currently Fedor has not done much. He has done a lot in the past, and I will be the first one to defend him on that. He needs to start facing top guys again though because he is losing credibility as the #1 heavyweight. It would be the same thing as saying Randy should be ranked at heavyweight before he made his return because he beat many guys who were top 10 at the time. It doesn't work like that. Fedor needs to do something this year in order to justify that CURRENT #1 rank.
